A photo of Siren Eukrante from the fifth wave of Konami’s Busou Shinki line.
There are three design motifs I find irresistible in action figures: armoured knight, robot/mecha and angel. Occasionally, all three elements will be present in one figure and I will simply die of extreme hypercoolness overload. Katoki Hajime’s Wing Gundam Zero Custom is one such example.
The Busou Shinki full sets come with a generous amount of accessories which are enough to give the basic MMS figure a few different looks. I got the Eukrante set specifically for this mode.
Wings and mecha elements.
Two outta three ain’t bad.
I got Ianeira (MMS type Mermaid) and she is my favorite of the whole line! She is obviously meant to give a little fan-service (those huge breast) but she is really pretty. Hopefully they will release an update soon so the newer figures could participate in Battle Rondo, Fubuki is soo weak >.
Ianeira does have a great head and hair sculpt though I suspect that may not be immediately apparent due to the aforementioned fan-service elements.
According to the Japanese Wikipedia, both Eukrante and Ianeira have been getting a lot of praise from Busou Shinki fans and fan-reception for the full sets of the fifth wave has been likened to that for the highly successful first wave. It’s good to see the line doing well.
The WaffeDolphin EX set seems unpopular in Japan, though. I’m having difficulty finding pictorial reviews to link to.
